Bring D.C. Back to Greatness
I, Rob Simmons, am running for the position of D.C. Senator to ensure that Washington, D.C. has a voice in the U.S. Senate. We deserve full representation and the ability to govern ourselves without overreach from Washington, D.C.
Campaign Goals:
Advocate for D.C. Statehood:
Fight to secure full voting rights for the people of Washington, D.C. in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
Promote Conservative Principles in Local Government:
Push for fiscally responsible policies, smaller government, and personal freedoms in D.C.’s local governance.
Strengthen National Security and Support Law Enforcement:
Champion policies that support law enforcement, national defense, and safety for all citizens, including D.C. residents.
Reform the Tax Code for Fairness:
Advocate for tax reforms that reduce the burden on hardworking D.C. residents and businesses, promoting job growth and economic opportunity.
Secure D.C.'s Role in National Politics:
Ensure that Washington, D.C. is not overlooked in national discussions and has a fair voice in policy making, regardless of the city's current status.
Key Issues:
1. Statehood and Representation
As a Republican, I understand that our country was founded on the idea of representation without taxation. I will fight for D.C. statehood and the right for residents to have full representation in Congress. It’s time for our voices to be heard and for us to have a Senator and Representatives who represent our interests.
3. Economic Growth and Job Creation
D.C. needs policies that foster entrepreneurship, reduce overregulation, and provide tax relief to encourage business growth. As Shadow Senator, I will push for pro-business policies that benefit both small businesses and large employers in D.C.
5. Education Reform
I believe in parental choice and the right to choose the best education for our children. I will advocate for school choice programs, improve local education funding, and work to make D.C.'s schools more competitive.
2. Public Safety and Law Enforcement
Public safety is a cornerstone of a thriving community. I stand with our law enforcement officers and believe in strong policies that protect our neighborhoods. Criminal justice reform should focus on rehabilitation, but also on maintaining a safe and just environment for all citizens.
4. Fiscal Responsibility
It's time to address the growing financial challenges in D.C. I will work to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely, and our local government operates more efficiently and transparently.
